HENRY-HOLDER - At noon yesterday, Charles Henry, Esq., Manager of the Branch Bank of Montreal, at Quebec, was united in the bonds of matrimony to Miss Mary Alice Rose, daughter of J. R. Holder, Esq., barrister, of this city.


The ceremony took place at Christ Church, and was performed by the Rev. Mr. Geddes, rector...  After the impressive ceremony of the church had been performed and the usual formalities concluded, the wedding party returned to the house of the bride's father to breakfast. The happy couple left by the 4 p.m. train to the States where they intend to spend a portion of their honeymoon.

HILL-SHIELS - A marriage in high life took place at the Harrison Chapel yesterday morning.  The Rev. Mr. Edgehill united in the bonds of matrimony, Colonel S. G. Hill, C.B., Governor of Newfoundland, to Miss Louisa Gordon Shiels, youngest daughter of the late Hon John Shiels, Chief Justice of the Island of Antigua, W.I. Captain Clark officiated as groomsman, and Mrs. Mary Moody as bridesmaid. After the ceremony, a select party was entertained at a wedding breakfast by His Excellency Lieutenant Governor Doyle.

KETCHUM-PALMER - (Brantford) Brantford had a marriage in high life on Wednesday when the services of the Rev. Canon Usher were called into requisition at Grace Church to join in the holy bonds of matrimony, William Ketchum, Esq., ex-mayor of Buffalo and Miss Elizabeth Palmer, eldest sister of J. C. Palmer, Esq., of Brantford. D. S. Kendrick, Esq., of Waterloo, N.Y., acted as father on the occasion and in a paternal fashion gave away the charming bride.The 2:30 train conveyed the happy couple to their Buffalo home.

MOORE-SESSIONS, SESSIONS-MOORE - Last week, there was quite a matrimonial flutter in Metcalfe. Mr. J. T. Moore was united in the bonds of wedlock to Miss Mary Jane Sessions, and Mr. Alfred Sessions, who had been for some time a widower,

 


the father of the bride, who was also married to Mrs. Moore, the widowed mother of the bridegroom. A very nice event to come about, but the conundrum of relationships seems to be pretty deeply involved.
